The Limited Supply Challenge on SCS today is to create a card representing summer and using limited layers and embellishments. I didn't have to look far to find some fun images to create a summer beach scene. Nothing says summer to me like sand dunes, sea oats, a lighthouse and the ocean. I found all those images in my newly released Kittie Kits Fun in the Sun set found at Rubbernecker Stamps.
I masked off the border of my Fabriano 5" x 5" note card. I stamped the light house with Versafine black and watercolored with Distress Fired Brick and SU Going Grey. I sponged on Distress Antique Linen for the sand dune area and then stamped the small sea oats around the scene with Adirondack Lettuce. I filled in the sand texture with small dune images. I masked off the sky area with a strip of paper and sponged below it to create the water line with Cool Caribbean. I removed the mask and created the sky by sponging on lighter shades of Cool Caribbean and using a hand cut piece of scalloped watercolor paper as a cloud template. I lightly filled in the sky with a light shade of Banana and then stamped the gulls in black ink. I removed the border masks and applied a simple grosgrain ribbon for embellishment. I love the outcome of this project.

ummm, tough one - they are both neat - I think I would say the Kittie Kits Beach Master set. We love the beach - it is so calming - seems to me that it would make nice cards.

Oh, Kittie, how can I say which ONE I would most like to have when I intend to have them all very soon! :) I do sorta gravitate to the outdoorsy type "stuff" tho. But then, that lighthouse card is so great. (I know, I sound so confused! LOL)
I can't wait to get all of these super stamps and get them all inky!

Kittie - I had such a hard time making up my mind.... Beach or Out Door.... Trees or sand??? Hmmmmmm.... well since I don't really have any beach stamps I would say...Beach Master and What's for Lunch - Love the little birds (poor fishies...).
The beach one would find a good home with me!!!

oh this is so exciting! I love the on the Ranch set - since I have little ones thesewould be used ALL the time. My second favorite is Day at the Beach. But truly any & all of your sets are my favorites, so how can one pick??

I love Day at the Beach #4. This set reminds me of our beach place in Ocean City, MD. The 3 women on the beach are my best friends and I enjoying the sun and looking at the banner plane flying by! What a fun set.

Beach images are my fav for summer cards. Can't ever have enough light houses, shells, beach chairs, umbrellas. I love what you did with the Beach Master. Thanks for producing these marvelous sets.

My favorite set of all is In My Garden#1 followed closely by the Outdoor Master and On The Beach#4(I like the bathing beauties-lots of possibilities for friendship cards). But, the outdoor sets are tops on my list because I have always liked the gardening-type stamps to color and I really miss that so many companies have gotten away from images such as these. Thanks for keeping those of us who love to color and paint busy!

I love your lighthouse card. Thanks for the directions on how you painted the sky. I always have problems in making the sky look realistic. I plan to keep your directions for the next time I need to paint a sky.
It's hard to choose between either the beach scene and the outdoors because I enjoy being in both places. But I think I'll choose the outdoor scene!

I would definitely say that I'd prefer the Beach Master set. Why? That's easy--I love the beach and stamping/scrapping beach scenes. Your sets have endless possibilities!
