Jingle All The Way

Good morning!  I wanted to share a fun card that I made for the SCS's Limited Supply Challenge. There were not many limitations to this challenge but there was one requirement and that was chocolate. It could be a chocolate image of some kind or just using the color chocolate. I decided to use my brand new Elzybells Reindeer and Sleigh image and to create  "chocolate moose" . I just love the little faces on these guys,

This is a large stamp to I thought it would be darling on a long card. This card is 9" x 4" and will fit into a standard stationary size envelope. I cut watercolor paper 8.75" x 3.75"as I didn't want to have any additional layers on the base. I stamped the reindeer and sleigh ( all one image) and created masks as well to cover to allow for stamping the trees. I used the tree from Stampin' Up! Loads of Love as it perfectly matched the style of the tree in the sleigh but I didn't want them to overlap each other for a thick forest look. I just wanted them to be as cartoony in the scene as the reindeer are. I watercolored all the images, messed up the sleigh badly so I stamped an additional sleigh on scrap paper and cut out to pop up.  Remember....never give up....there are only happy mistakes.  I used a gold pen to color the runners of the sleigh and used a white sharpie for the sleigh trim and to apply the little white dots on the deer. I painted the star on the tree with scattered straw and then painted lightly out of the line of the star to create a glow and quickly applied clear embossing powder and heated.  I wanted to create a shiny glow but also wanted to protect the glow from the sponging done for the sky. I sponged both bashful blue and bordering blue with a blending tool and added a little banana along the lower border of the trees for highlight. I applied Liquid Applique" along the ground area of the scene and dabbed it with my finger to spread it fairly evenly and to reduce the "dreaded blob" effect when heating. I sprinkled Iridescent Ice embossing powder on the snow area and heated to create a sparkly look and to create the cover to eliminate the sticky rubber feel. I also added Diamond Glaze lightly to the trees and sleigh and sprinkled Martha Stewart Glitter but you can only see it on the sleigh in this photo.  The trees are all sparkly as well and in real life look so sweet. I just love the little blue bird in the scene but it was totally covered with snow so I stamped another one, cut it out and popped up. I created a double loop bow to match the size of this card.
