I had fun this weekend coming up with a box project for the Stampavie Design Team blog challenge. Please come and check out the details and play along with us. You may even win the secret prize.
I wanted to make a box that would be useful as well as a decorative gift. I found a box template by Mel McCarthy on Splitcoaststampers that would be perfect to fit 3X3 note cards and envelopes. I printed the template on white cardstock as well as on a piece of decorative paper and adhered together. I scored and built the box and attached the decorative trim around the lid. I painted the images and cut out. I applied liquid appliqué with a tiny brush and lightly dabbed with my fingers before heating to avoid the the dreaded blobs. I used mounting tape to attach to the box top. I thought the sweet girl dropping her letter into the mailbox was just perfect for this little box top.
I had the opportunity Saturday to walk with more than 5,000 people in the Orlando American Heart Walk. The weather was beautiful, the traffic was blocked on our gorgeous tree lined street path of 3.5 miles and it was an exciting event. I walked to honor my parents, Nellie and Richard who both lost their lives to heart disease.

Beautiful Box!! That little girl is just too sweet!! I ALWAYS wanted a coat like that when I was growing up! So fluffy and warm!! What a beautiful gift!
That walk looks inspiring!! I bet it was great to join together with so many people for a great cause!!!
