Happy Saturday. It has been a few days since I have posted due to work responsibilities. I always look forward to the weekend when I can relax and play with my stamps, brushes and punches. I have a couple Christmas cards to share with you today. The first is made with non traditional colors and features a sweet nativity scene by Stampavie Tina Wenke called Away in the Manger.

I painted the image and framed with a double matted frame and then created an aqua holly and pine spray across the top with sparkly yellow holly berries. I added the same yellow sparkly Stickles to the star over the manger as well as the halo around the head of baby Jesus. Here are a couple other views.
My second project is a repeat of one I did last week using my new Spellbinders Layered Poinsettia die set. I used tartan designer paper from BasicGrey’s Jovial to create a large poinsettia. I layered it over olive foliage and attached to plan white punched background with a simple sentiment. I really love the simplicity of this style of card letting the large flower be center stage.
Here is a close up view. It is a little hard to see all the dimension of the petals and the brads with the black on the paper.

I love bright red poinsettias at Christmas time but there is also something wonderful and enchanting about soft pink poinsettias as well. My mother’s flower shop was filled with pine wreaths during the holidays and to this day are one of my most favorite decorations. My project today pairs a small pine punched wreath filled with pink poinsettias. A clean and simple white background with a pink panel allows the wreath to be the main focal point with no additional embellishments necessary. Here is are couple other views.

Good Sunday morning. I’m sure you all realize by now that I have gone crazy for paper flowers. When I saw the Spellbinder Layered Poinsettia die set I knew I had to have it for Christmas cards. It seems while I was shopping on line recently I was so excited about purchasing this set that I accidentally put two in my shopping cart. I laughed out loud at myself when I opened my package and saw two of them had come with my order. I decided it would make perfect blog candy to accompany my post today. All you have to do to qualify is leave me a comment telling me your favorite style of Christmas card to make during the holidays.
I cut out three different sized red poinsettia blossoms and one large olive green blossom. I shaped the petals by rolling a stylus on the backside of the paper while laying on a mouse pad. I added depth to the flower by sponging on cranberry ink to each petal. I repeated the same with the green using peeled paint ink. Using glossy accents I attached each layer alternating the petals to create the flower. I cut the green leaves and attached them to the bottom of the flower allowing them to extend past the largest layer. I applied glossy accents to the head of three gold brads and dipped them in gold glitter and allowed to dry. I cut the clasps off the back of the brads and glued them in the center of the flower. I attached the flower to the sentiment layer of the card and then applied a few sprigs of punched pine to add softness. Here are a couple other views.

Do you like cupcakes? Who doesn’t! The Clean and Simple Challenge on Splitcoaststampers Monday was to create a project with a cupcake of some kind. I pulled out my Rubbernecker Party Time set with cakes, wrapped packages and a cute single cupcake. I didn’t want to use one single little image on my card so I created a party platter full of piled up cupcakes. When I was finished I asked my husband if they looked like cupcakes of snowy mountains. He said “neither”! LOL
I stamped the cupcake image on close to cocoa cardstock using chocolate chip kraft ink, embossed with clear embossing powder and cut them out. I painted white kraft ink on the top portion of each cupcake and embossed with Ranger White Embossing Puff to create the frosting. Using Glossy Accents I applied 1/8” punched circles for the cherries on top along with tiny tips of punched pine. I layered the cupcakes to create the appearance of a dessert platter and applied foliage for the decorative garnish. The finishing touch was the sweet pink multi loop bow .

Happy Monday. Making Christmas cards with an outdoor theme is one of my favorites to make. I had fun paper piecing the new Tina Wenke Winter Birdhouse on my project today. Paper piecing is a little time consuming but well worth the effort. It allows patterns and textures to be added to an image for a unique look. I used designer paper and regular cardstock stamped with black and embossed with clear embossing powder. I painted white craft ink on the snowy parts of the image and embossed with white embossing powder. All the different sections of the image were stamped, cut out and layered. I added a touch of red Stickles to the red berries for a little Christmas sparkle.

My project today is really fast and simple. I stamped the new Birds in Trees 597 image along with the flying witch from the Halloween Set 1 473 on retired SU designer paper using Black Versafine and embossed with black embossing powder. I added a multi loop bow made with organdy ribbon that was heated to age and make look spooky. It's hard to see it well in the photo.

I love making snowy scenes and especially for my holiday cards. Today I’m sharing an old fashioned country Christmas card using the truck from Kittie Kits Fall Harvest accompanied by a tree from the Evergreen Tree set.
I stamped the truck image twice on scrap watercolor paper, painted and cut out. I cut the wheels off the top layer of the truck and layered it over the wheels of the second layer to give dimension. I cut a slit along the top bed of the truck and inserted three cut Christmas trees. I painted white craft ink around on the truck to create the look of built up snow and embossed with white embossing powder. I inked the tree image and spritzed with water before stamping on watercolor paper. I repeated this step all the way across the main layer to create the forest of Christmas trees. I sponged in the sky using a hand cut scalloped cloud template to create the sky and sponged in brown on the ground area. I finished the main layer by painting white craft ink around the base of the trees and along the roadside. I attached the truck to the scene with rolled up glue dots and then applied Glossy Accents around the ground area and on the truck and applied Polar White Flower Soft for the appearance of soft snow. Hi everyone! I got to play in the Splitcoaststampers Clean and Simple challenge when I got home from work last night and came up with a "no" stamps project. I love red, white and green together on projects any time of year but especially for Christmas cards.
The crimped green pine border with the red trim pops off the white and the red gingham country bow with punched pine is the perfect embellishment for this simple card. It is hard to see that I also added little tiny red flowers to the pine. Check out my multi loop bow tutorial if you would like to know how I made my bow.

Happy Sunday! It has been almost a week since I was able to post on my blog. Work is keeping me busy and a little too tired to stamp in the evening when I get home. I enjoyed getting inky this morning and I have a fun card to share with you using a newly released Stampavie Laurence Collection image called A Christmas Delivery.
I stamped the image on watercolor paper with Black Versafine, heat set and painted using Ranger Distress Reinkers. I cut the image out to pop up over the white background layer for a little added dimension. I added red Stickles to the ornaments and holly berries for sparkle and white Flower Soft to the b ear’s cap for a fluffy finishing touch. Here’s a couple other views.
