I have had lots of fun this weekend making paper flowers . I have a sweet project to share with you today.
The wreath was made with Memory Box Grapevine Wreath die. I cut the wreath twice with kraft paper and sponged both with Vintage Photo ink and light adhered together. I rotated the top wreath over the bottom one to make it look like a fuller thicker wreath.
I started making tiny little flowers with my mini flower punches. I modified the flowers by cutting out one petal and gluing back together. I know that sounds strange but I was trying to make flowers small enough for the wreath and that would also not look flat. I distressed the flowers and glued them together and pushed tightly down with my stylus into the mouse pad to push the petals up to create more dimension. You can check out my punched flower tutorial if you would to see how I shape my flowers. The lavender flowers are double layered and the pink ones are only single layers. I used my 1/8" circle punch to create tiny little flowerets to arrange around in the foliage to soften the arrangement. Here’s a closer look.
I adhered the wreath to the white punched layer with Glossy Accents. I didn't have ribbon to match the Lavender Lace paper so I cut a thin strip of cardstock and pulled it across my bone folder to soften the paper and created the loops and tails of the bow and glued into the wreath. The all white punched background looked so plain so I cut a square frame to fit inside the punched border and popped it up on mounting tape. It was the perfect addition to highlight the wreath.
I have a flower spray tutorial that shows step by step photos of how I create my sprays. You can find all my tutorials on the top right side of my blog home page.
I really appreciate you stopping by and supporting my blog. I receive so many wonderful comments and emails every day and I am thrilled that so many people are inspired to create their own floral projects. Have a great week.
