I have two projects to share with you today. I tried my hand at pencil shading the truck from my Kittie Kits Fall Harvest set. The second is a fairly gaudy red and white Valentine flower card.
Linda aka Holstein was featured artist for the Splitcoaststampers Featured Stamper challenge this week. I was intrigued by her pencil shaded horse card and inspired to try my hand with the technique.
I stamped the image with black Stazon and used a used a sketching pencil with soft lead to shade the truck image. I really had fun playing with this technique and definitely think I will try again.
I almost tried to light pencil sketch in some scenery around the truck but thought I’d better stop where I was.
My second card is a crazy one for me. It is one of those times where the project looked so much better in my head than how it really turned out.
I wanted to try making a flower with my new Stampin’ Up! blossom punch but got a little carried away with the size of the flower. I punched several petals, distressed them and then attached them to a punched circle used as the base of the flower.
I wanted to center to be sparkly with rhinestones but wanted them to be red so I colored clear ones with a red Promarker. I attached the leafy flourish to try and soften the flower a little. I was almost not going to post this as it isn’t my favorite but thought I may as well share the bad with the good. LOL!
I hope you have a great week. Thanks for stopping by.
