I love playing in the Splitcoaststampers Color Challenge and this week the color combination was Blushing Bride, Riding Hood Red and Baja Breeze.
When I saw the pink and red colors were to be used together I instantly thought it would be fun to try and create a variegated pink and red rosebud. I liked how the first one turned out so well I made two more to create a flower spray.
I punched out several 1” and 1 1/4” pink circles and distressed them with my stylus against a mouse pad to soften the cardstock to make easier to work with.
I sponged red ink lightly around on the circles to create the variegated appearance. I love the red edges and lines on the pink flower petals. They look so lifelike in person. You can see a little more closely in the next photo.
I added the blue to the project by with the tiny, tiny blue flowers placed around on the foliage to soften the spray.
You can see step by step photos in my rosebud tutorial if you would like to see how I made my rose buds.
I hope you are having a great week. Thanks for checking in today.
