My project today was made for the Splitcoaststampers Inspiration Challenge. Superfine Bakery provided tons of gorgeous cakes to choose from and I was inspired by the hand painted birds and marzipan berries on the cake below.

Here is what I came up with.
I die cut the branch and the leaves, distressed to give dimension and sponged with ink. I die cut the birdhouse and embossed to give texture but left the white roof and base plain for contrast. I created a punched border frame and attached to the card base with mounting tape. I attached mounting tape to the birdhouse and placed inside the frame. I attached the leaves to the branch and placed in the frame so some of the branches would actually hang over the roof of the house.
I punched several tiny yellow flowers, sponged lightly with peach ink and distressed to shape. I punched several rock fern to use around the perch for the bird to be nested in. The bird was die cut and sponged lightly with the same peach ink as the flowers and attached attached to the base of the house.
I attached the tiny flowers around on the branch and the fern to finish the cheerful spring scene.
I hope you have a wonderful week. Thanks for stopping by and thank you for all your lovely supportive comments.
