Happy New Year! Ok….so you know how much I love making house projects. I thought I would welcome in the new year with a peek at a new die set being released from Poppystamps called Madison House. The window, flower box and door are perfect miniatures of the larger ones that most of us already have. What fun they are to play with.
I started by cutting out the dies and measuring for the size I would need for the house itself. I wanted to create a wide enough house that I could fit windows on both sides of the door. It ended up being 3 and 7/8” and still left enough room for the roof to be overhanging on both sides. I added score lines to the house to add the appearance of siding and then attached to the card base. I attached the roof section with adhesive along the top edge and with mounting tape along the bottom edge to pop out for dimension. I cut openings through both the house and card base so you could see thru the windows. If you would like more details on see thru windows you can check out my tutorial here.
I attached the tiny flower boxes to the window with mounting tape and cut tiny pieces of foliage from the lavish branch to fill in and then attached the tiny red flowers made with cuts from the flower mound. I added a tiny floral section over the door and a few clouds in behind the roof for a finishing touch.
I think you should hop on over to Ellen’s and put this set on your wish list for when it becomes available. It is definitely a set you will want to have in your collection.
Have a wonderful holiday and a Happy New Year.
