Good Thursday morning. Welcome to the Impression Obsession design team challenge. Our challenge today is Your Favorite Technique.
For my project I used the Hydrangea Stamps Set and Hydrangea Set (die).
The minute I saw our new challenge I knew I wanted to use the Belleek Inspired technique introduced to us last year by Judy in the Splitcoaststampers Technique Lovers Challenge. Click here for step by step instruction on this technique. Click here if you would like to see more of my projects using this technique. I brayered the top portion of the embossing folder with pink ink, ran the folder through my machine with the top face down and attached the embossed layer to the card base..
I stamped the flower base in pink and cut it out with the coordinating die. I cut several sets of the hydrangea blossoms and formed them with my stylus and mat. I cut the leaves in plain white and formed them with my fingers to add a little definition.
I placed two pieces of mounting tape on the center of the flower and two smaller sections on top of that to use as a riser for the center of the flower and to create a round appearance. I picked the petals with my paper piercer and attached around the sticky mounting tape riser and attached flowers to the base with glossy accents. As I added a few blossoms I lightly sponged pink on the white to give a variegated appearance. Since the flowers are placed close together I couldn’t wait to sponge the ink on when I was totally finished as it would be very hard to reach every blossom. I repeated the steps until the flower base was filled.I attached the completed hydrangea to the stem with glossy accents.
I created a frame and attached it to the embossed layer with mounting tape. I mounted the flower and stem to the frame with mounting tape and then tucked the leaves in around the flower. I finished by adding a simple pink ribbon knot.
Why don’t you come along and play with us. To enter the challenge go to the Impression Obsession blog (all the details are there!). A random challenge card will be selected to showcase on the IO blog AND you can to enter to win a $25 gift certificate to IO just by playing!
I hope you will go check out what the other IO teams members created for the challenge.
Thanks for coming by today.
