I have a fairly clean and simple project to share with you today that I made for the Splitcoaststampers Technique Lovers Challenge. We were to use an open style image stamped with one color and not colored in. I love the butterflies in the Rubbernecker Butterflies Are Free and Butterfly Inchies set and thought they were the perfect image to use. I didn’t actually use ink but instead stamped with versa and embossed with gold powder.
I’ve used the gold embossing with white on white many times before and I never tire of it. I stamped the butterfly images and sentiment and heat embossed with gold power. I created double layered Fleur De Lis rectangle frames and popped them both up on mounting tape for dimension.
I cut the butterflies out with my snips and then popped them up using rolled up glue dots and Glossy Accents. I the the double layer Fleur De Lis is such a perfect elegant design to be paired with the delicate butterfly images.
Happy Tuesday and I hope you are having a good week. Thanks for stopping by.
PS….I forgot to make a picture of my Fleur De Lis dies. Sorry. I copied and pasted the picture from Spellbinders.

I think I've said this before but it's worth repeating. Arizona photographer, Scott Baxter, says a photograph is good when it's easy to look at. I believe that's true with most art. And it's certainly true with your cards, Kittie. This is beautiful.
I had to come to your blog to find out what TLC meant though {smiling}. I'm still so new to SCS that I don't always know what all the challenge acronyms mean {laughing}

This card is so pretty. I have several of the Spellbinder's dies that I inherited from someone who no longer wanted to do this craft and I haven't used them. You have inspired me to get them out and make use of them. Were you ever a teacher? You make things so clear when you describe your creations. Thanks!!

I love the look of your embossed butterflies. I will have to give it a try. All your art has inspired me. Here's my first try at making Kitty cards: http://melaniereidscrapbooking.blogspot.com/2012/02/rolled-flower-cards.html
