It’s Friday! I am so happy it is my last day of work and I am looking forward to the three day weekend. How about you? I have a simple scene card to share today made with Memory Box and Poppy Stamps dies. I made this for the Splitcoaststampers Ways to Use It challenge to use the color green.
I die cut the Orchard Tree Frame out of Old Olive cardstock and colored the limbs and branches with a Vintage Photo Distress Marker. I die cut two Grassland Borders, crimped them both to add a little texture and cut them to fit directly behind the frame. I applied tiny strips of mounting tape to the back edges of the frame and attached it to the white card base.
I cut the deer images using kraft cardstock and lightly watercolored them using ink from the Vintage Photo marker. I cut the three images a part so I could arrange them to fit well in the frame. I cut several orange and peach flowers and butterflies using the Flower Mound die and the Butterfly Delights die and arranged them in the scene to add touches of color. I really like how the greens, browns and oranges pop against the all white base. I think the Orchard Tree Frame is the perfect way to frame a nature scene.
This is the second time I have used the deer on a card and I really think they are special and unique cut images. I think I’m going to have to try my hand at a winter Christmas card with them soon. It’s never too late to start holiday cards.
Have a great holiday weekend. I hope you get a chance to get your fingers inky.
