Good Thursday morning. My project today was made for the Splitcoaststampers Color Challenge to use Tangerine Tango, Chocolate Chip and Always Artichoke.
When I saw the challenge all I could think about was brown tree and green foliage. I chose to use the Memory Box Orchard Tree Frame and create a birdhouse scene.
I used the actual die cut frame to draw a light pattern form on the white cardstock and used the lines to keep my clouds and grassy area in the lines. I colored the artichoke tree frame with a vintage photo distress marker to create the brown tree limbs and trunk.
I made the birdhouse using a 3/4" and a 1 " square punch. I used the smaller one to create the house and cut off two corners. I used deckle scissors to cut the larger square corner off for the roof. I used a little heart punch to form the bird entry hole and then matched the heart with tiny heart flowers added to the fern foliage at the base.
I stamped two birds from the Impression Obsession Solid Tree set and placed them in the tree. I finished by mounting the house and adding linen thread for the tie. You probably can't see it but I added a tiny little foliage/heart spray over the little door opening.
Thanks for stopping by today and I want to let you know how much I appreciate all of your supportive comments on my post.
I have been having some trouble keeping the photos of my linked accessories and I am working on the issue. I am sorry for the inconvenience.

Lovely card kittie, so creative making the little birdhouse, have to give that one a go, don't have any square punches but I believe I can still cut a square free hand or with a ruler, really enjoy this card, great work.

This is an inquiry: I have a very large order at Ellen Hudson so I can make some of your beautiful cards. It has come up for over a week, unavailable, for almost everything. I can not find a way to contact them to see how long a wait for these items. Perhaps you have an answer.

Is the orchard tree frame cut out of white cardstock and then you use distressing ink to color the tree brown and the leaves green ? Thank you .
