Good Friday morning and to the eve of the weekend. Wheeee! I turned from Halloween back to Christmas for my project today as I couldn’t wait to play with my new Impression Obsession Pine Branch and Border Duo 2. The minute I saw the pine branch I knew I had to pair it with my favorite poinsettia die set by Spellbinders.
This was a really fast and simple card to make. I layered the borders of white over the red card base to create contrast.
I created the poinsettia by distressing the petals from the back of each, layer and attaching together with glossy accents. I used my ink blending tool to sponge Fired Brick Distress Ink on the petals to add depth of color. I distressed and sponged ink on both the green foliage and pine branch using Shabby Shutters. I attached the pine with glossy accents and then attached the flower and foliage over the pine. I placed a white pearl in the center of the flower to finish.
You can check out my poinsettia tutorial if you would like to see step by step photos of how I create my flower. Thanks for stopping in today and I hope you have a great weekend.
