Good Saturday morning. I am a little late getting my project posted today but I had so much fun making it this morning. I told you how much I love all the new Poppystamps windows. Today I have a clean and simple white on white Christmas window to share with you with pops of green, brown and a little red.
I started by tracing around the inside of the window die onto the card base. I used my craft knife to cut just a little on the outside of the traced lines so the edges of the opening would be hidden when I attached the window die. Did that make sense?
I crimped a separate piece of cardstock for the siding, cut around the window opening and attached to the card base. Have you noticed how the crimped paper makes a statement with the pop of dimension. I love my crimper. You may want to get yours out and dust it off.
I cut two windows one for the outside and one for the inside. I wanted the inside to look neat and crisp as well. I attached the front window with mounting tape. I attached a small tab of cardstock to the back of the sitting cat and then attached the tab to the inside of the window. I wanted as much of the full cat to show as possible so attaching with the tab allowed me to do that. I attached the second window flat against the inside and over top of the tab on the cat. It made the cat appear to beitting directly on the window sill.
I die cut a white border to use as a blind and then traced around the top outside portion of the die and then cut it out and attached to the inside window.
I die cut several pieces of pine and holly from my new Impression Obsession Twig Wreath set to create a window arrangement. I used a dry brush swiped directly across a brown ink pad and lightly stippled brown on the branch area of the pine to give a more natural appearance. It is hard to see it in the photo. I attached the pine pine to the window and then attached a multi loop gingham bow. I added a few pieces of holly and a few red berries to finish. This could definitely be a scene from my front window as we have four cats. That’s why I couldn’t resist the new cat dies. And yes….it is lots of cat hair to deal with. LOL! Thanks for stopping in today and I hope you are having a great weekend.
