Good Sunday morning and happy anniversary to me. Today I am celebrating two blogging milestones. My article today is blog post number 1,000 and My Very First Blog Post ever was published five years ago on November 9 2007. It is amazing to look back on my original posts and to browse through the years to see all the twists and turns my stamping style has taken.
To celebrate I am offering several nice items for blog candy.
Letraset Aqua Markers Set 1 and 2, Memory Box Ornament Border Die and retired unmounted 2007 Stamping” Up! Keep Christmas stamp set.
All you have to do to qualify for my gift is leave a comment telling me how long you have been blogging and or paper crafting. You will have until 5:00 pm on Wednesday, November 14th to leave respond.
I love making flower cards and especially poinsettia Christmas cards during the holidays. For this project I paired the Poppystamps Blooming Poinsettia and Grand Madison Arched Window.
I created my poinsettias by using only the smallest flower die section. I wanted them to be small enough to arrange on the arched window. Check out my Poinsettia Tutorial for step by step photos of how I form my flowers.
I attached the window to the card base with mounting tape to add dimension. I applied the poinsettias with glossy accents. Adding the pine branches around the poinsettias created a touch of softness to the arrangement. Here are a couple close up pictures to give a closer view of how the flowers and foliage was arranged.
I thought the poinsettia and window was perfect layered over the Tina Wenke poinsettia paper.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful Sunday.
Paper: Tina Wenke Holiday Card Making Paper, White, Olive, Red Accessories: Poppystamps Blooming Poinsettia, Grand Madison Arched Window, Martha Stewart Branch Punch, Mounting Tape, Glossy Accents, ATG, Big Shot, Stylus, Mat,
I have been a crafter for most of my adult life, various kinds. I started scrapbooking in 1998 and that led into cards, which I started about five or six years ago. Love making cards. I do not blog but love finding others and seeing their works. I have just found you in the last month and love what you do. Thank you for sharing your talents with others, and also for the chance to win the blog candy.

I've been scrapbooking for 10 years
and card-making for about 6. I found
your blog this year by way of the
Ellen Hutson tutorial, and now your
blog is the first one I check in the

so many past blogs of yours to go

1000 posts is truly a monumental milestone, Kitty. Congratulations! I am so glad I discovered your amazing work. You are such an inspiration to me & to many others. Your level of craftsmanship is what I strive for in my own work. I have a long way to go, but you encourage me each & everyday. I have been into crafts since I was a child, but only into card making for about 3 years. My son helped me create my own blog just last year, but I have a lot to learn when it comes to blogging! Thank you for a chance to win some blog candy & here's wishing you another 1000 posts plus many many more!

I have been paper crafting for about nine years. I started with scrap booking and refused to look at rubber stamps because I had a feeling they could become an addiction. Boy was I right about that! I started making cards because the are more instant gratification than scrapping.i have never blogged, but I think I would like it. I absolutely love your cards, Kittie.

I have to say i just love your blog and this card is so gorgeous!!!
i love the candy thanks so much for a chance to win.
I started crafting in 2007 i had to leave my job which i loved as a health care worker, as i had a heart attack, it left me with angine.
I started making cards with some stuff my daughter was throwing away and i was hooked, it helped me so much and specially when my dad passed away in 2009.
Sorry to go on lol!!!!! bless you.

Best wishes on your anniversaries. I have been paper crafting/crafting for most of my life. I have made cards for over 20 years and have enjoyed watching the changes in styles and techniques. I found your cards on SCS a few months ago and have been enjoying seeing your beautiful creations. It is fun to see how you use some of my favorite dies. Thanks you for sharing your creativity with us.

Congratulations on your anniversary! I love your blog and look forward to your fabulous creations each day with my morning coffee. I purchased so many products from your inspirations. I have been crafting all my life and used my skills in the 37 years that I taught elementary school. I began crafting cards about 25 years ago when my husband was working on his doctorate at BYU in Provo, Utah. It is my passion and so relaxing for me now that I am retired. Don't have a blog but enjoy reading them. Thanks for the chance to win the goodies!

Congratulations to you on your anniversary. I have been scrapbooking for 12 years now, and decided to start making cards with left over product about 5 years ago. When I saw one of your creations a couple of years ago, I challenged myself to rise to your standard. Of course, I will never be a wonderful and creative as you, but I have certainly learned to make 3-D cards as gifts. The most recent one was a 50th wedding anniversary card, and I made the box to hold it too. Thank you for all the wonderful inspiration you are giving to a great many crafters.
Posted by: Janice | November 12, 2012 at 12:52 PM
Love the poinsettia you make, and of course that makes this card beautiful, i have all the same stuff you do, but my flowers just don't look like yours, especially the tiny ones!!! You are just so talented, I look forward to your blog every day, such a pleasure to read and see. So much wonderful inspiration!! Thanks kindly for all you do, it is not easy doing a daily commitment like you do. I have been crafting for oodles of years, but of recent about 4 years ago, I got into scrap booking, and bought a few stamps for that and before I knew it, I was loaded with stamps, and got into card making and all is history, card making now is mostly all I do, and along with that I do blog occasionally, but only once a week or so, and no followers to speak of, I used to belong to a flickr group, and I have a lot loaded on that site, but have not been on there much of late. There are only so many hours in a day!!
Thanks for sharing with us, and also for the chance at your blog candy.
hugs Kitty,
Donna

Hi Kitty,
I've been making cards for about 6 years when a friend gave us a tutorial on cardmaking at our church. Since then the group of us has taken up the hobby and we meet every Thursday evening. When I was first introduced to your blog, I thought your cards were just my style! Beautiful, and full of flowers!! I've used many of your ideas. Thanks, Kathy

I went to your first "stamp camp", sometime before Christmas in 2004(?), knowing full well that I would not be able to do it! Just fell in love with it to the point that my daughter knows that a nice chunk of her inheritance would be lost if she just pitched my stamping area!!! LOL. I remember the Christmas card I made that year, a Christmas tree in forest green, using a blender pen. I remember you demonstrating the magic of embossing powder in our little lunch room at work. Stamping kept me content at home during my mother's final years and continues to give me great joy (and some frustration) when time and energy allow me to "play" now. Thanks for sharing you amazing gift!

You have the most beautiful cards. I have been cardmaking for about 20 years. Have just got into die cuts and copics over the last year. So love that you show all the products you used. Thanks for the Glossy accents tips, never used it as a glue before, but have that past weekend (and now I know how to make my flowers more dimentional. Don't have my own blog but follow yours and a copic one in Europe.

God Bless you on your 5th Anniversary! I have been so fortunate to have been following you. Although I do not have a blog, I am such a fan. I have been paper crafting for most of my life. As a child, I loved paper and fabric. The ability to create a work of art only my mother loved (and still has) left me with such joy, and a feeling of accomplishment that has lasted a lifetime. I still get that feeling. In the past six years, paper crafting has become an all consuming passion whose joy I have shared with severely mentally ill adults. They were able to accomplish what they thought was the impossible. What a gift to be able to create change in another person's life.
That's what you do for all of us. You have been inspiring and generous with your sharing through your daily tutorials. You are our candy sweet Kittie. Please continue to bring joy on our lives.

I have absolutely loved your blog since I became aware of it maybe a year ago. Your work is absolutely beautiful! Would love to achieve this kind of level in paper crafting some day... I have been paper crafting for 4 of 5 years now. I love making cards! I had a blog at one point, but deleted it. I need to start again someday! Congrats on your anniversary!

Hi Kittie,
I do not have a blog, but I have been stamping and making cards for 20 years. I just recently noticed how many of your cards I put into "MY Favorites" so I looked up your gallery (which I usually don't do, usually only looking at cards recently posted) and have been mesmerized with them ever since. I am using your inspiration for my Christmas card this year and plan to send a post when finished. Love, love, love your cards! Keep 'em comin'!

I have been a cardmaker since 2006 and love it. I was a quilter before which I still do some what since I found card making was a faster gratification. I can get so involved with cards I forget time and my poor husband will remind me we do have to eat! Since I found your blog a few years ago I check it daily. You blow me away with your cards and creative mind, I do barrow some of your ideas. I also like the way you show everything you use and where to find it. Thank you for being so generous.

Your flowers (I can never spell the "P" word without going back to check) are gorgeous Kittie, and look lovely with your window and that pretty paper. I have been card making for several years now - I don't really remember when I started and all of my early cards were just word processed and punched. I have been stamping for about 4 years and blogging for three. I love being inspired to try new things. I am working on a project currently that has been wholly inspired by you! Happy Holidays & Congrats on your Blog Anniversary! I have been making cards & scrapbooking for over 29 years (age of my oldest daughter). I had some of the original rubber stamp sets from mail order catalogue from 30 yrs ago. My children would stamp cards and colored them to gift their relatives at a young age. When I went back to take a look at your work it is evident that you are a superior artist as well as having a unique creative eye for placement on paper. Your compositions are so realistic, that they become life like on your cards. The way in which you create things inspire people to go beyond what they would normally create. I am so blessed to be able to know you as well as your work even though we have never met it is so rewarding to view all your creative work. Congratulations on your 1000th blog. You are one terrific lady,Kittie. God Bless.

Love your style and creativity. I found you through Pinterest and am so glad I did. I have been paper crafting for about ten years and love, love, love it. It causes me to ignore other things in life such as cooking, cleaning, etc. LOL

Happy Blogaversary Kittie! I first started papercrafting in 2008 but in a very basic way. I gradually progressed to stamping then I learned to shape diecut flowers and leaves with the help of your fabulous blog and tutorials. You once said in an email that dies and punches were addictive - you are right! My favourite techniques now are diecut cards and Lili of the Valley stamped images which I usually colour with copics or promarkers. I'm just learning watercolouring with reinkers but I'm not very good yet.

I don't have a blog - probably because I spend so much time looking at other peoples' blogs!!!!! I have been papercrafting forever, though, and my supplies tell that story. Thanks so much for the chance to win and more importantly thanks for all the inspiration you share with us!

congrats on your 5 years of blogging! I still remember when I first discovered your blog and was absolutely floored by how beautiful your projects are! You have such an amazing design sense...color, composition, and those little extras that make a card just stand out. I have been paper crafting in one way or another since my teen years and am both a scrapbooker and card-maker. I love to work with paper and stamps especially...love to get inky! No blog so far....I'm intimidated by the whole thought and I just enjoy the creative transfer that I get from blogs like yours. Thanks so much for your awesome candy and for bringing so much beauty to my life!

How wonderful to have reached the 5 year mark! I always just love your projects and your blog is like eye candy to me! I am not a blogger but I have been paper crafting for much of my adult life. I love making 3-D paper projects for party and holiday decorations and have recently gotten into card making. I have a 2 year old so not much time to craft but I love it! Thanks for the chance to win some goodies!

Kittie, I have a question for you. I have been only scraping/crafting for a few months and would like to know-- If you could only have two punches, and two embossing folders, which ones would they be? Thanks
