Good morning. I have a sparkly sugared poinsettia to share with you today. I love the Tim Holtz Tattered Poinsettia and think the Impression Obsession Pine Branch is the perfect accompaniment.
I would love to tell you that I was smart enough to add the glossy accents and glitter to all the layers of the flower before I assembled it but no such luck. I had the whole pink portion of the flower together and thought it looked plain. I decided to add glitter and did it by slathering on glossy accents one petal at a time, spreading it around with my finger and then spooned on glitter. I hadn’t attached the green leaves to the flower yet so I was able to do them while they were still loose.
Here’s a closer view.
I love adding some kind of dimensional frame around big flowers like this. I think it add interest. I cut the frame using a grand square Nestabilities and then mounted to the card front with mounting tape. I attached the flower and pine to the base using glossy accents. The petals of the flower were a little heavy with the glitter so I added double layered squares of mounting tape under several of them to hold them up.
Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by.

The sugary look of the poinsettia makes it look attractive and elegant. Nicely done, Kitty!
