Good Saturday afternoon. I am a little late posting today. I spent some time this morning looking at a private Facebook “family page” that my sister set up a few weeks ago. Our mother came from a family of 11 children so we have tons of cousins. We are all scattered all over the united states and most of us have not seen each other since childhood. We are reconnecting and have been thrilled to see the children and grandchildren of our cousins joining in our group as well. There have been so many wonderful pictures of our parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles shared on the site. One that especially touched me this morning was my mother and father in the mid 1940s standing in front of mother’s family home with their old greenhouses in the background. I had never seen this picture before. Weren’t they adorable.
My project today was made with my parents in my heart. Mother was a talented florist and would have loved this soft and delicate floral bouquet. I hope you don’t mind that I made my post a little longer than usual by sharing about my family.
I used the Bella Bouquet for the outline of the arrangement but covered the flowers with blossoms made using the Blooming Posie and mini daisy punch. I love the “wildflower” appearance of these flowers.
I cut two of the Fresh Foliage and formed them lightly with my stylus and mat. I attached one to the frame and then attached the floral bouquet over top of it. I attached the second one over top of the bouquet guarding that the leaves didn’t cover the flowers but filled in the bouquet. I added tiny flowers made using the flower mound die and formed with my stylus. I like how the tiny flowers soften the bouquet. I left the stems showing and finished with a multi loop organdy bow. I was especially facinated with ribbon when I was a young girl and worked with mother in her flower shop. You can check out my multi loop bow tutorial if you would like to see a video of how I tied this bow.
I hope you have a great day.
For some reason many of my accessory pictures may not show but you can click on the box where the picture should be and go see them at Ellen’s. You can also click on the links in my accessories listing below.

What a sweet picture of your mother and father! I think you very much favor your mom. This card, like all the others, is beautiful, with the striking, vibrant colors. Your parents would have been very proud of your creations. :)

Just thought you should know that when I tried the links to see the dies you used, my Google Chrome stopped me from getting there! It said the page had some Malware attatched to it!!! You should tell the people at Ellen Hutson's site. I also tried several different links I thought it might have been the link. But It must be the site itself!
Good luck

Kitty your card is just beautiful. Every day I look forward to the many ways you can turn a simple piece of paper & a few punches into a masterpiece. I am so happy you found this wonderful photo of your parents and connecting with lost relatives is a gift in itself. Thanks for sharing. I have so few pictures of my parents & maybe one day one of the relatives may run across a treasure like this & share it with me.
How do you attach your bows to your cards with all the foliage etc on it to make it stay securly?
Hugs, Janie

Such a stunning card. I love the color and the flowers. Kittie, I'm quite "intrigued" with the way you form your tiny flowers made with the flower mounds. They are so cute, and I want to know when you form them with your stylus, do you you dot them with a little bit of color? I've seen some of your tutorials, but I don't get the same result when I do them myself. Please let me know how. Thanks Kittie for sharing your wonderful creations.

I love the family story. I've been building a family tree w/pics online the last few years. I'm glad I did as we lost our mom last September. She had given me lots of pictures and information about them. I LOVE your card. I've only been following your blog for a couple months now & look forward to each card you post. They are all so beautiful! Thank you for sharing your talent!

Just love card Kittie - the vibrant colour and the design. TFS the lovely picture of your parents, your mum's hair style is beautiful. I think she closely resembles June Allyson, film star of a bygone era - can you see that?

I have incorporated some of them into cards as I love doing vintage /Shabby chic too.how wonderful we can now preserve and scan all these wonderful pictures into our computers for all to see!

I didn't have a problem. Everything I clicked on went right to Ellen Hutson's site.
Love your card, Kittie. Your flowers are always so beautiful. I also have a similar picture of my parents with my dad in his "sailor" suit. We must all be of the same era although you don't have the wrinkles I do :)

Your card is gorgeous, and your Dad and Mother are to. It is so much fun looking at our parent's pictures. The sad part is that most of them don't have names and sometimes we can't find out who they are. My daughter is now doing family history. It's a lot of work but well worth it. Thanks for sharing.

The black and white photo is wonderful! They look so happy and this is how you will always remember them. You are very generous with all your posts, and this one in particular. Thank you for sharing such a personal part of your life. I have learned so much from you. Your mother should be VERY proud of your talent because I may try to replicate your card designs, but I cannot duplicate your talent.
I look forward to each and every one of your posts!

Oh Kittie: You put your heart full of love and grace into this fabulous card. Isn't it amazing how young your parents were? They are beautiful too. My father recently looked at his wedding photo. He said," Nah, I was never that young!" I replied, "Oh Daddy."
You are so blessed to have a mother who loved the beauty of flowers and to be surrounded by them...well! Her gift was transformed in your art which you share with us. I guess that's what is meant by the gift that keeps giving!

What a wonderful treasure you found in this picture of your parents, Kittie. Can't technology be so amazing?!! My dear Grammie passed away last summer at 102, and I rescued a box of pictures that was relegated for the trash that contained some treasures for me and the only picture I have ever seen of my mom and dad's wedding day. Your mom also left you another gift in the form of your wonderful artistic ability--so that's where your wonderful way with flowers comes from. She would be as proud as a mom ever could be to see the creative way you delight to play. Your beautiful paper bouquet has a stunning vintage flair. Do you have as great a love for real flowers too?!! I love 'em, but I am a terrible gardener:)!! Thanks for sharing both these treasures with us, Kittie.
