Welcome to day four of our CHA Winter DT Blog Hop to preview our Spring/Summer stamps. Come by every day this week and check out all the wonderful design team projects.
For my project today I used the Ruffled Rooster, Vintage Egg Carton, Vintage Egg Trio (for shape only), Farm Fresh, Fence Border
When I first saw the egg carton I knew I wanted to fill it with eggs. I stamped the carton with pumice stone, embossed it with clear embossing powder and cut it out. I stamped the egg trio two times and cut them all out. Using my craft knife I cut slits for the eggs, turned them over to show the white side and inserted in them in the slits. I secured them from the back with glue dots.
I love the rooster image only I think it looks more like a chicken. LOL! I stamped it with black versafine, embossed with clear embossing powder and cut out. I colored in the detail of the chicken areas using distress markers. I thought she would look cute wearing an apron so I hand cut one and used the border duo 2 scalloped die to cut the little white trim. The farm fresh sentiment was stamped with black versafine, embossed with clear embossing powder and cut out with deckle scissors for a country feel.
I cut a single mat frame using a rectangle die, cut a deckled edge around the outer edge, attached the fence border to the back of it and mounted it over the card base with mounting tape. I popped the chicken, egg carton and sentiment up using mounting tape.

Love your "chicken" card.and being a farm girl, I agree it does look like a chicken...love how you put the kittle apron on her...you are always so creative...I have your blog listed on my blog in my favorites, and look at it everytime you post!!

I enjoy your post every morning with my morning coffee. I LOVE this card and got the biggest chuckle about rooster or hen. That is a hen...from a country girl. Rooster are much leaner and that's why they are not good for eating. However, the image is perfect....it's that darling image you used (hen) that gives us those yummy looking eggs. (IO got it wrong this time...haha...but I love love my IO stamps and dies, so I'll just give them a wink wink...haha)

Definitely a chicken, but a hen and not a rooster! I'm thinking whoever designed this is not a country girl and has never seen the 2 of them together:) There's a huge difference. Love the card, and all of your cards. Hugs
