Good Sunday morning. I have a Belleek Inspired card to share with you today. I haven’t made one in a while and had been missing it. It is one of my favorite techniques to use with delicate images like flowers and butterflies. You can check out the Belleek technique here.
I started by cutting my fleur de lis piece and measuring the size I wanted my embossed layer to be. I inked up my brayer with pink ink and brayered the inside of my embossing folder. I placed my cardstock in, embossed it and then attached to the front of the fleur de lis piece with mounting tape to add dimension.
I cut the Pippi butterfly with white cardstock and brayered ink on it to match the background. I brayered another piece of white cardstock, cut the tiny flowers using the flower mound and formed with stylus. I cut and formed the lavish branch and attached the tiny flowers with glossy accents. I attached the branch and butterfly to the card base using glossy accents. I added two tiny pearls to the center of the butterfly for an elegant finishing touch.
This card is only 4 inches square but packs lots of elegance in it’s small size. It would be perfect for a gift card.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are having a great weekend.

So beautiful, Kittie. A little story. For 3 days I have been trying to remember what a "brayer" is called. Finally I searched your blog yesterday for a belleek style card (it has been a while). I finally found one along with tons more inspiration from all your wonderful creation. If I had just waited one more day, you would have told me anyway. So thank you. I have my sanity for another day. lol

Thank You! You have just solved my Mother's Day dilemna. I have 4 mothers to make cards for. I usually choose (borrow, "steal") from where I can and vary colours. What excites me is I have everything you have used (more or less-main tools). That almost never happens.
Thanks for resurrecting a variation on technique new to me!

Hi Kittie
I was wandering through your blog looking at your Christmas designs when I spotted your tag "Belleek Inspired Designs" & was fascinated to see what they were like.
I lived in Belleek (Co Fermanagh N.I) for 20 odd years before moving up to the big smoke of Belfast for work, & my family only recently moved up here, so we have a huge affiliation with the village, its characters, & above all the china. Our next door neighbour was the chief designer for the pottery & a childhood friend of mine, so I've sent him your card designs - never know he may use them as inspiration for the next major piece of china LOL!
All your cards are inspiration for me, & I'm so glad I came across your blog, as I'm disabled, & haven't always the energy to try & think up designs of my own, so it's great to be able to get ideas from other talented card makers like yourself.
Blessings
Romayne (Wright)
