Good Sunday morning. I have a fun spring window and birdhouse scene to share with you today that I made for the Splitcoaststampers Featured Stamper Challenge. The featured artist is Robin aka Missro and I was inspired by her lovely Madison Window card found here.
I started by cutting several 1/2 inch strips of white cardstock and attached to the base to create siding. I cut two windows, one for the outside and one to finish off the inside cut opening. I used the window as a template to draw cutting lines on the card front with a pencil and cut the opening with my craft knife.
I attached the front window to the card base with mounting tape. I cut designer paper and used my crimper to create the folds for hanging drapes. I attached the valance portion to the inside of the window first with ATG adhesive and then attached the side panels. I attached the second window over the drapes to finish the inside. Here is a closer look at the inside window.
I cut branches using kraft cardstock and colored them with Copic markers and attached to the top of the window with glossy accents.. I cut a grass border, attached red flowers with glossy accents and attached to the bottom of the card. I cut a fresh cut grass section and attached it with mounting tape.
I cut the birdhouse once using kraft and again using red. I cut the roof and bottom off the red birdhouse and attached using glossy accents.I added foliage to the base of the birdhouse for embellishment and placed attached one red bird. I attached a second red bird in the tree branches to add one more element of red to the scene for the finishing touch.
Check out my See Thru Window tutorial if you would like to see step by step photos of how I create my opening window. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great day.

Fresh as a spring day! Love your card, Kittie. Amazing how much interest is created by the addition of the birdhouse. I really like the way you used the longer grass border as the stems of the tiny flowers - I must give this a try.

Kittie I LOVE all crafts but for some reason have not really done much card making. Having looked a lots of different blogs and sites yours is the most original for card making I have not seen these dies before. Your cards I would want to keep forever. I can't say which one I like the best just wonderful. I think I am going to have to send for some of those dies. I love the picket fence and the little birds and leaves. The birdhouse everything. I am a big fan of birdies and birdhouse. Thank you for inspiring me. Rosemary
