Good Saturday afternoon. I don’t know about you but I am so glad it’s the weekend. This past work week seemed longer than usual and I came home tired every night. I’m sure you all can relate.
Have you had a chance to check out the new Susan Tierney Cockburn floral and garden die sets by Sizzix? You know how much I love making flowers and especially roses. My project today was made using the Flowers Mini Petals set. I am in love!!!!!!!!
I cut out the petals and leaves and formed them using the new Sizzix Accessory Tool Kit. I assembled the rose following the step by step instructions found here. Here are a couple of close up views.
I thought this sweet rose was pretty enough to stand alone in a decorative double matted frame using the Accent and Label set and Classic Square Die set. If you would like to see step by step photos of how I create my frame you can check out my double matted frame tutorial.
I have several more of Susan’s flower die sets so keep an eye out for more projects over the next several days. If you are like me you are going to have a growing wish list.
Enjoy your weekend and take some time to do something special for yourself. Thanks for stopping by.

I just heard about this new line of Sizzix framelits dies the other day but didn't get to see any of them or samples of the actual flowers. I'm so happy to see something like this from Sizzix, but as usual, their directions are greatly lacking. But, at least there are tons of flower tutorials all over the Internet and most of us already know how to use the die cut pieces to form the flowers.
Your rose is beautiful. Since the dies are called "mini" petals, I'd love to know the size of the finished rose.

Well, this is beautiful. That really is a gorgeous rose. Love those mini petals. I hope Joanns or Michaels get these.

Lovely card Kittie, as usual. I took classes from Susan 6+ years ago when she was using the punches, and the flowers were wonderful. But as the years go by, those punches have become so heavy to lug around. I love the new dies, and have just received my first ones. Can't wait to give them a try. I also have to learn how you make your lovely frames. Thanks for sharing your loves and talents.
