Good Monday morning. I have another floral project to share with you today using Susan Tierney Cockburn’s Rose Set. For those of you who visit my blog regularly you know I love roses. I am so thrilled with this fantast rose set. I would challenge anyone to decide without touching if this were a live rose or paper rose.
I started by cutting the all the pieces for the rose using white cardstock. I sponged worn lipstick ink on the petals, formed the petals and leaves and followed Susan’s step by step video to assemble the flower. This is so much easier than it looks.
I created a stem for the rosebud by cutting a strip of olive cardstock about 1/2” wide and 6” long. I distressed the paper using the loop tool and molding pad to soften and make more pliable. I folded one side of the strip in towards the center and pressed down. I folded the other side over and glued down. I worked the stem with my fingers while the glue was still damp to make sure the glued fold held.
I applied crafter’s pick to the end of the stem and inserted it into the small opening on the bottom of the bud.
I created a double matted frame using the floral oval to create a decorative base for the rose. I attached the rose and stem to the frame with glossy accents and finished by attaching an organza multi loop bow.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day.
