Good Wednesday morning. My project today was made for the Splitcoaststampers Technique Lovers Challenge to use traditional holiday colors to make a non traditional card. I have said many times that red and olive green are one of my all-time favorite color combinations. When I saw the challenge I was inspired to create a clean and simple all white background with just a pop of color with the branches and flowers. I created the frame with the Martha Stewart Flower Box Punch around the Page set and the created the branch and flowers with the Impression Obsession Leafy Branch 2 and Spiral Flowers.
I punched the flower box border, cut the frame opening using a classic long rectangle die and attached it to the card base using mounting tape.
I cut the foliage, lightly formed with my stylus and molding pad and attached to the frame and base using glossy accents. I cut the mini spiral flowers, rolled them around the tip of my tweezers and attached to the foliage with glossy accents. You can see my mini spiral flowers tutorial if you would like to see step by step photos of how I form these precious little flowers. Here’s a side view of my card to show the dimension of the frame and floral spray.
I love the simplicity of this all white card with just a pop of color.
The leafy branch 2 has become one of my most favorite foliage dies because it is so versatile. I love using it whole like on my project today but it is also perfect to cut apart to create flower stems or filler foliage for a spray. Check out the posts below to see other projects using this wonderful die.
