Good Saturday morning. How many times have you ordered something twice by mistake? I really don’t do it very often but when I do I slap myself on the forehead with a big DUH! My mistake is going to make one of you very happy. I mistakenly ordered two Spellbinders Grand Rectangles sets this past week and instead of sending one back I am offering it as blog candy as a thank you for all of the wonderful support you show me week after week.
All you have to do to qualify to win is leave a comment on this post telling me which of Susan Tierney Cockburn ’s flower dies are your favorite. You will have until 5:00 PM EST on Friday, July 26th to leave your comment.
Speaking of Susan Tierney Cockburn’s flower dies, I have another flower to share with you today made using the Black-Eyed Susan die. I paired it with soft sky blue paper and a piece of the Sun Kiss Collection designer paper. I wanted the flower to be the main focal point and added other elements for added dimension and interest.
I started by cut and assembling the flower following Susan’s wonderful video tutorial. I used Susan’s Garden Pan Pastel to coloring the flower petals and leaves.
I cut the Poppystamps Grand Madison Window and Picket Fence in blue and attached to the card base using mounting tape. I cut the Fresh Cut Grass and added to the fence. I cut the Memory Box Butterfly Delights, colored them lightly with Pan Pastel and added markings using my vintage photo distress marker. I attached the flower and leaves using glossy accents and added the butterflies for the perfect finishing touch.
Here is a closer view of the flower. I think it looks so real. And it is so easy to make.
Here is a side view to show the dimension of the flower.
Thank you for stopping by. Please remember to leave a comment on this post to qualify for the Spellbinders Grand Rectangles set blog candy. I will announce the winner next Saturday morning, July 27th.
Paper: Soft Sky, Yellow, Olive, Chocolate Brown, Prima Sun Kiss Collection 6” Pad (I can’t find one of these available to link) Accessories: Sizzix Black-Eyed Susan Die, Poppystamps Grand Madison Window, Picket Fence, Memory Box Butterfly Delights, My Favorite Things Fresh Cut Grass, Susan’s Garden Pan Pastel, Sizzix Accessory Tool Kit, Distress Markers, Glossy Accents, Mounting Tape, Paper Piercer, Metal Adapter Plate, ATG, Big Shot, Teflon Bone Folder , Guillotine Paper Cutter
This card is gorgeous. I like the Rose dies, and also the sunflower. My husband raises lots of sunflowers, mostly to feed the birds, but the flowers are so pretty.

Oh wow, this is gorgeous! You know you are responsible for me buying the Grand Madison window and door dies? lol Your cards are so creative. I only have Susan's tulip die so far (it's my favorite flower), but I have my eye on many of them. This black-eyed susan is so pretty!
Posted by: annheidel | July 20, 2013 at 11:31 AM
Actually, Kittie, any flower you make is gorgeous! If I have to pick just one, I'd say the pansy. The sunflower card you made is beautiful, and I love your use of the printed paper as a background. I would have been afraid to use it, but seeing your sample, I'll have to experiment a little.
Posted by: Nancy Johnson | July 20, 2013 at 11:42 AM
Ellen, I have never used any of Susan's die cuts but after seeing this gorgeous Black Eyed Susan I will definitely have to have it...Thanks so much for the share...you do such beautiful work...you really do inspire me.
Posted by: Maggie | July 20, 2013 at 12:24 PM
My favorite is the pansy, but you make all of Susan's flowers look so real! Thanks for always inspiring.
Posted by: Paula Touhey | July 20, 2013 at 12:25 PM
I'm pretty new to die cuts and don't have any of Susan Teirney Cockburn's flower dies, so u don't have a favorite. I love how you use both color and shaping to add dimension. That's something I hope to learn, since mine all look (and are) pretty flat.
Posted by: Elisa | July 20, 2013 at 12:25 PM
Kittie, very gorgeous card. I haven't started yet to make any of the flowers using the dies, but one of these days.
Love the way you choose to make the paper and every thing go together so well.
Hope I make my self clear.

lol...I've given dies as blog candy for the very same reason! Kittie, you are such an inspiration - love checking out your gorgeous creations! Your creativity is endless... thanks for sharing with us! Would love to win these - I have a GC, but no Grand dies! Thanks for the chance :)

Kittie, sorry I posted Ellen's name in my previous post...thinking about ordering that die cut....and got ahead of myself...sorry....

It's hard to choose. I do love the roses but today's black eyedsusan is a favorite too.

My favorites flower is the Black Eyed Susan (I was named after this flower as I was born with brown eyes!).
I also like that it is easier to mail than the other flowers.
Kittie, I love all of your cards! You are an inspiration.

I really like the color combinations in this card. It's difficult to choose just one flower from Susan's collection, but the Black-Eyed Susan would be at the top of the list. They are so cheery to look at. Thanks for the opportunity to win your extra dies (haven't we all done that!). Thanks also, Kittie, for continuing to share your talent.
Posted by: Sue | July 20, 2013 at 12:53 PM
Oh my .... choose just one? Now that is HARD because I love them all. I do love the Dogwood because it reminds me of the time that we lived in Virginia when we were first married (48 yrs now). We have lived in TX now for over 30 yrs so if you could pass on to Susan that now I would like to make some Bluebells. :) (TX state flower)
Love your card with the gorgeous Black-eyed Susan. Stunning!!!

Kittie, thank you for the opportunity to win some blog candy.
I love all of her dies, and because of you, I have a bunch of them. I love the pansy....I have a heck of time growing them so making them on a card is the next best thing..... Thank you again for the blog candy and for always sharing your sensational ideas

I have learned so much by your tutorials.

Hi, Kittie, This flower is so beautiful. All your creations are so real and alive looking. But, my favorite flower is the rose. I have the rose die but it doesn't look like yours. You always inspire me.
Posted by: Stephanie Bonin | July 20, 2013 at 01:30 PM
What a gorgeous card! Because of you, I bought 12 of Susan's Garden dies and Pan Pastels. I am still trying to get the Mini Flowers and Daisy but they are always out of stock. So as for my favorite, that's hard but I recently made 20 of the Hibiscus. The plan is to make all of Susan's flowers and make a swag vine to hang in my craft room. I have a quite a ways to go!
Posted by: Debbie | July 20, 2013 at 01:39 PM
Hi Kittie - you do such an amazing job on all your card creations! I look forward to see what you have posted every day and you always inspire me! My favorite of Susan's flowers is the lily - which is hard to pick because they are all o great. Thanks!

What a gorgeous flower and card Kittie, your work is always outstanding! I love all of Susan's flower dies but I really love the dogwood. We have a lot of dogwoods where I live, they are beautiful when springs comes. Thanks for the chance to win the spellbinder dies, I love those too!

Hi Kittie
Buying twice; I do too and I hate it.... My favorite Susan's flower die should be: Forsythia, I say should be this one because I don't have any flower dies but this one seems the loveliest flowers. In fact they're all beautiful so it's difficult to choose just one.
Thanks for the opportunity to win the Spellbinders Grand Rectangle. This is very yummy blog candy.
Have a great weeken!
Posted by: Carole RB | July 20, 2013 at 02:13 PM
Another beautiful card! And as much as I love sunflowers, I have to say the Pansy is my favorite. And yes, I have bought doubles, sometimes because I could not find the item in the first place, then buy another one and poof it magically appears! Thanks for a chance to win your extra set of Spellbinders! Have a great weekend!
Posted by: Barbara M. | July 20, 2013 at 02:21 PM
I don't think there is a person out there who doesn't buy things twice. Maybe someone who is really, really organized (not me).
Anyway my favorite die is the Dogwood, my home state's state tree.

Thanks to you and your inspiration I have already purchased the lily and the hibiscus!! But I must say that black-eyed Susan is stunning!
I can relate to buying something you already own. Do it all the time. Thanks so much for the chance to win!!

Oh, Kitty, you have once again given me incentive to try something I have never done before - I am digging out my window, picket fence and grass dies to try something like your gorgeous card - love that you did the fence and window in that pale blue - just makes the sunflowers POP! Thank you for sharing your inspiration with us - you are an ARTIST!!

I like the sunflower the best as I prefer the flatter flowers. But I also like the hibiscus one. Love the card with the sunflower background too.
Posted by: Yvonne Weber | July 20, 2013 at 02:55 PM
I also do not have any of her dies. They are ALL Fabulous and it would be very hard to chose a favorite. I love the cards you have made with them. Each one uniquely different and equally stunning.

A change up of color and so beautiful! My daily coffee break I look forward to, inspiration you deliver, and spark my desire to create too. Thanks so much, and hope you're feeling better now.I love all of Susan's dies, but the sunflower is a cheery reminder of God's garden.

As far as...what is my favorite Susan's flowers. I guess I have to say the Lily since I purchased that one already. However, I wish I had the Magnolia flower? Maybe next time?

Love this flower you created Kittie! Then again, I love all your flowers! You have such a talent for making them. I don't have any of these flower dies so I can't say as I have a favorite but oh my, your card project makes me want to run right out and get it!! Thanks.
Posted by: Connie G | July 20, 2013 at 03:21 PM
I don't often pop on to comment Kittie because I subscribe to your blog. I so look forward to getting the emails sharing your gorgeous creations. I'm not sure if you are happy to post to the UK if you're not then just remove my details from the draw.
The Susan Tierney dies are quite new in the UK but what I have seen of them my favourite die is the daisy - you can do so much with it! Tfs your beautiful creations Karen x

Your cards are always so beautiful and this is another winner. I just love the sunny yellow! My favorite one of Susan's flower dies is the Poppy!
Posted by: shartl | July 20, 2013 at 03:55 PM
I love them all but the peony is my favorite. I only have the lily but hope to have more in the future. Thanks for the chance at "your double order" since I don't own any of the grand dies. Your card is lovely.
Posted by: Lynne | July 20, 2013 at 04:01 PM
It's so hard to choose a favorite because all of her dies are amazingly realistic. If I were to narrow it down, I would choose the pansy and the dogwood. The forsythia is nice to but seeing your black eyed susan card makes me swoon. Thanks for the chance to win. Your cards are always beautiful.
Posted by: Birgit | July 20, 2013 at 04:27 PM
How nice of you to offer the set to us! I just went and had a look at Susans flowers etc. I love the Pansy/Violet set I think. The pansy was Dads favorite and the Violet was mom's. So when I look at either, it'reminds me of them.
Thanks again for the chance to win.
Hugs, Jess

Beautiful card Kittie, I love how you've added extra details to the tiny butterflies, you have such an eye for detail! I don't have any of Susan's flower dies but top of my list is the mini daisy. I do love what you have been creating with all of her dies though, the flowers are so realistic :) Cathy x

I love Black Eyed Susans! My Uncle Cam use to call me Black Eyed Susie when I was very little. However my absolute Favorite die is the Poppy. It reminds me of "going downtown" and buying the paper Poppy flower from Veterans when I was little.
Posted by: Debbie Daniels | July 20, 2013 at 05:00 PM
This is kinda weird, I always read your posts via email so clicking over to leave a comment looks quite different. As far as the dies, they're all really pretty & you make them look so good. I especially love the rose, but I would never get any of them to look like a hoot if I had them. Thanks for the chance to win the SB.
Posted by: Tami B | July 20, 2013 at 05:43 PM
Kittie, I know you've heard this a thousand times over...but your work is simply stunning each and every time. You are a HUGE...I mean a gigantic inspiration to me. You have helped go beyond my normal card making zone and jump into the art of scenery. That is a gift in itself to the receiver of that card. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful talent to the world. My favorite Susan's Garden die is the mini rose set. I have several of the sets but haven't tried them all just yet. But so far I enjoy making the mini roses. They almost look porcelain at times. Thank you for the opportunity to win the Spellbinders dies. Funny...I need those dies but haven't been able to get them yet. What perfect timing :) Have a great weekend!

Thank you for the opportunity to win the grand rectangles. I only have a few grand calibur dies and this will be a great addition. Thank you

I can't tell you which of Susan Tierney Cockburn’s flower dies are my favorite because I didn't even know she had any! I didn't even know she existed! But thanks to you I'm learning.
Thanks for being such a wonderful inspiration to so many -- those who make the cards and those who receive them.

What a great treat for us in addition to your awesome cards! Thank you! My favorite is the sunflower mostly because I think it's the easiet one to create, but each card you make using her flowers becomes a new favorite. Thank you for sharing your creations with us.

I can't imagine buying 2 of the same thing in paper supplies! LOL I've even gone to the point of saving my Spellbinders cardboard from the package & put them on a ring so I will know what I have. Evidentially this didn't work, for this has happened twice. I love the flowers that Susan Cockburn Tierney does. I have several of her dies but my most favorite is the dogwood. I made several of the dogwood blooms and glued them to a small branch for a realistic display. So pretty. I always check your blog to get inspiration from your beautiful creations. Love them all! Keep them coming!

Love your blog, Kittie - it's definitely an inspiration! I don't own any of Susan's dies yet, but I love the Dogwood. Black-eyed Susans are my favorite flower, but when I looked at the die, I never envisioned it looking like yours, so now I want this one also!
Posted by: PJay | July 21, 2013 at 12:31 AM
Thank you for all of your wonderful cards. You really have a way with the flowers and make them look so real and beautiful. I think my favorite Cockburn flower die is the pansy because it makes me think of all the Johnny Jump Ups we have around us. I would love to see her create a Columbine flower die set.
Posted by: TerryB | July 21, 2013 at 12:36 AM
I do love your work! You always inspire me and give me alot of wondercu ideas for my cards. I do my have any Susan Tierney Cockburn’s flower dies I use cricut expression for my flowers. I just started buying Spellbinders. I know I am not ellagable to win. I wanted to tell you that I love your work and thank you for the inspiration you give me.

It's really head to pick just one, because I love them all. But since pansys are my favorite flower I'd pick her pansy. Have to admit I liked your flowers before you started using hers....love the scenic card you do.

Oh, your card is out of this world beautiful! I love the pale blue window and fence, and every single element is just perfect! The flower looks gorgeous, and I love the brown center. The texture is wonderful!
I would have to say my favorite die might be the peony. My Grandmother had beautiful peonies, and I just love them. It's been decades since she passed away, but I'll never forget gathering flowers with her. <3

I love all Susan's Dies but have to say my favourite has to be the "rose"
Thank you for the chance to win these Dies. I have done the same thing so many times ..... Why Oh! Why do we manage to do these silly things.
Have a great day

This card is adorable, it looks alive, real and full of life. Thanks for the chance to win the set of the die, my most favorite set of the flower die is the Peony, I like the irregular shape and edges of the petals, they looks so real.

Nancy, you are definitely eligible to win. It doesn't matter that you don't have Susan's dies. You don't have to have Susan's dies to win. :>)

I like the Black-Eyed Susan, you make all your flowers come to life. But my favorite is the Mini Daisy, when I saw what you did with that flower, I had to have it, so I now have it.

Oh, my gosh ,Kittie, this is fabulous! I love the blue against that gorgeous bg paper, and the tiny butterflies are amazing, but the bloom is absolutely stunning! I already own the dies you are giving away, so if my name comes up, please pick someone else!

Kittie, your card is stunning! Thanks for doing such a beautiful job showcasing Susan Tierney Cockburn’s flower dies. I have seen them at Hobby Lobby but haven't really paid attention! Stunning!!!! What an incredible flower. I went and looked up the different flower dies and I really do love that sunflower but I also like the Dogwood!
Such a gorgeous card! I love the color combo and the pretty DP. Love how you colored the butterflies!

My favorite flower is the iris and stargazer lilies....Hoping her new CHA collection has an iris! My favorite of her flowers is the quince because you can make cherry blossoms from them

This card is beautiful! I like all the dies, but I have always been partial to daisies, so I need to go with the Mini Daisy. Thanks for you beautiful work, Kittie!
