Good Sunday morning. I have a fun project to share with you today that I made for the Featured Stamper Challenge over at Splitcoaststampers. I was inspired by Heidi Baks fun 3D Christmas card found here. Heidi made the most wonderful scored Christmas tree and has a great video tutorial over on her blog, RunningwScissorsStamper showing the simple steps for making it. I was intrigued and had to give it a try.
I usually don’t make much of a fuss about the inside of a card because I put the main focus on the front of the card. This is definitely a switch as the inside of this card is packed with fun. You can see the outside of the card a couple of pictures down.
I followed the step of the of the tutorial, scoring my cardstock, cutting as instructed and inserted inside my card. I cut several stars, scored them down the middle and attached them together at the folds with glossy accents.
Here’s a closer view of the tree and the star.
These are the cutest snowmen ever. I had to take closer views.
I hand cut the little hat to create a different version for the opposite side of the card.
I created a double matted frame and added the reindeer and sleigh to create a simple scene for the card front. I like how this turned out. It definitely will not go in an envelope as it is bulky but it will be a really fun gift card to insert in one of my crystal clear boxes..
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great day.

This is an adorable card!!! You've given me some great ideas for my Christmas card this year.
What did you use for the gold on the sleigh?

Erica, I'm sorry I failed to mention in my post that I used a versa marker to apply versa to the sleigh and embossed with gold embossing powder. Thanks for asking.
