Good Tuesday morning. I am on staycation this week and enjoyed being able to play in the Splitcoaststampers Clean and Simple challenge so early. The challenge this week is a sketch with a larger than normal card size. 8” x 4”. Here’s the sketch.
Here’s what I came up with.
There isn’t much description needed for this card. It was very fast and easy. I cut a circle mask and laid it over the the image layer. I sponged the yellow ink all around the inside of the circle mask to create the moon. I stamped the trees and sentiment with black versafine and embossed with black embossing powder. I attached the banners to the back of the image layer, applied mounting tape and attached it to the card base.
I applied small pieces of mounting tape to the back of the silhouette and popped it up over the moon and tree tops. Here’s a closer view to show the dimension.
Black, white and yellow are certainly not traditional Christmas colors but I think it really works with the Santa and his reindeer silhouette. I think I will have to try another one with house tops in silhouette.
I am so happy you came by and I hope you have a great day.

Wonderful card, Kittie! Love the scene! My friend from AU just sent me some laser-cuts that look quite similar to your Santa sleigh w/reindeer. I might use one on a case of your wonderful card. TFS! :)

This is amazing! Not one speck of red and green, no glitter or snow, and nothing outlandish. If anyone told me to use black ribbon and the only other colour to add was yellow with black and white for a Christmas card I would have thought they were crazy. But your card has so much charm and magic. It boils Christmas eve in the eyes of a child down to one image. I love it!
Thank you for sharing these beautiful ideas! :)
