Good Sunday morning. I love pink poinsettias. Well….I actually love poinsettias! It doesn’t matter what color they are. But there is something special about pink ones. My project today was made using Poppystamps Blooming Poinsettia, Small Blooming Poinsettia, Sizzix Fancy Square Frame and Spellbinders Classic Squares.
I love framing flowers and I think this triple matted frame decorative frame is so pretty. It is the perfect way to focus on the poinsettia while adding a special touch at the same time.
The poinsettia was cut using white cardstock and colored with pink and red Pan Pastel. The foliage was cut using olive cardstock and I added a touch of green pastel to add depth. I formed the petals using my stylus and molding pad, The center of the flower was filled with a tiny bit of flower soft. Check out my poinsettia tutorial if you would like to see step by step pictures of how I made my flower.
Here’s a closer view. You can click on all the photos to see an even closer view. I love how this turned out. It clean and simple yet packs a punch.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful Sunday.

Your pink poinsettia is soooo pretty and feminine! It's lovely enough to deserve a frame in a shadowbox.
I have the Spellbinder one that you were using a couple years ago and I love making them in different colours and even with patterned paper. One of my favourites was one I made in black with silver leaves and another one that turned out really fancy was one that had an extra layer of vellum to go with each layer. Thank you for all the great tips you posted on shaping and creating these blossoms. You really inspired me to do more with my dies than just cut them out! :)

I, too, love your card. I bought the small die set this past week and cannot wait to use it on some of my holiday cards. I have a bigger one from a prior holiday season, but think I'll use the smaller one more. Try using suede papers for your poinsettias and other foliage....it cuts and embosses beautifully and it really feels like suede. Works with punches, too. The flowers and leaves/foliage are so pretty and soft, not to mention you can get it in many, many colors...white, reds, pinks, yellow, purple, greens to mention a few....lots of colors and shades of colors.
Love your art. TFS

Sure so does back a punch. Knocked my socks off. You continue to inspire me. Gotta start making the poinsettias for this year's cards. Love how those dies curve at the ends of the petals. Beautiful!
