Good Sunday morning. My project today was made for the Splitcoaststampers Inspiration Challenge and Horchow was the inspiration site.
I was inspired the garland and wreath pictured below. I loved the white and silver with all the sparkle.
I made tiny pinecones for my garland using the Impression Obsession Spiral Flowers set and I thought I would share a few pictures showing the steps to shape the flower into a pinecone.
Hold the spiral flower tightly with the tweezers, roll a couple times around the tip and apply a little glue to hold the center in place.
Roll lightly around over the glue and continue rolling a little more loosely and after a few more turns apply a little more glue to help hold in place.
Apply glue on the last section and tab before you finish rolling and then finish, hold in place for a few seconds and remove from the tweezers.
It isn’t a perfect cone shape but when placed in an arrangement it will look like a perfect pinecone.
I applied silver Stickles by slathering it on with my finger. It was messy but adds such a perfect touch of sparkle.
Here a few step by step photos of how I created the garland arrangement. I cut four pieces of the Impression Obsession Leafy Branch 2 and cut them each into two sections. I formed them using my stylus and molding pad to add dimension. I used the larger pieces for the side sections and the four smaller pieces across the top.
I attached one larger pieces on each side of the window with glossy accents.
I attached the next two in toward the center.
I attached two of the smaller pieces in the center with glossy accents.
I finished with the branches by adding the two remaining small pieces and completed the framework for the arrangement.
I filled in around all the silver branches using lots of white pieces of the Pine Sprig Cluster. I started in the center and worked my way out to the left and then went back to the center and worked my way out to the right. I finished by arranging my pinecones in the design. Wish you could see it in person.
You can find step by step photos in my see thru window tutorial if you would like to see how I cut and finish my open windows. This time I created a second layer for the window so I could outline it with silver. I cut through both the the window base layer and the card base to create the opening. I finished the inside with a second Grand Madison Window section.
I cut the Luminescent Candelabra out of the silver paper, modified it to fit on the window sill and created a smaller arrangement around the base.
Enabler Alert: I see on Ellen’s that the candelabra is going to retire. If you want one you should click on it now and get it before they are all gone. It’s the perfect time because Ellen has her anniversary sale going on right now.
I really love how this turned out and am so disappointed that I couldn’t get photos that really showed off the sparkle and richness. I usually photograph all my cards with a white background but it was impossible to get good pictures. I next tried a red background and it almost killed me as it was so harsh. I finally tried two pieces of silver cardstock and that created the best background. I might have to keep this and frame it in a shadow box.
I hope my step by steps may help you create a garland or wreath of your own. You can see from the pictures that it is just a matter of attaching the foliage and filling in until you are happy.
Have a great Sunday and I appreciate you stopping by.
Just when I think you have done your very best, you surprise me again.... so very elegant and stunning... I bow to your creativity.... thank you for sharing.....

You always have lovely ideas, but in my humble opinion, hands down, this has to be the best! If I received a card like this in the mail, I would put it in a shadow box and hang it in my big craft room. It would be the center focus and I would decorate the whole wall to compliment it. Gorgeous, fabulous, fantastic just do not do justice to this masterpiece! WOW!

Beautiful, thanks for showing how you made the pinecones, I just bought this set of flowers and had a hard time rolling them but I didn't think about using tweezers, I was going to go purchase a quilling tool, lovely arrangement!

Very very beautiful. Stunning, as all your cards always are. I look at you blog every day, I don't always comment because you would get fed up of the words BEAUTIFUL and STUNNING, you are one clever talented lady. Merry Christmas Kittie.

I agree with Lesley...how many ways can I say....stunning, gorgeous, amazing, incredible, elegant, over the top..I need to find more adjectives...you are indeed the most creative artist. And you are so kind to take the time to show us step by step of your creations. You work outside the home, make these fabulous (another adjective) cards, then display all that you use and THEN take time and this is a lot of time
to show us step by step...lets just call you our "Kittie Angel."

Your cards and tags are so pretty. I'm so upset with my email provider...for some reason I've stopped getting your posts via my email as well as a couple of other blogs I follow...I'm having to come to your site via the internet when I remember that I didn't get your email...I tried re-subscribing, but it's still not working. I hate missing any of your delightful creations. I've been considering a new email provider anyway since I'm hearing some providers are bad to scan your emails so they can bombard you with ads.
Anyway, hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and thanks for all the inspirational cards and tags.

It is only in the last 2 months that I have been following your blog and wondering - Where have you been all my life?!? You have such amazing creations and the intricate details are what make your work so beautiful. I would also like to thank you for being so gracious as to share how you make your creations. I am now an official "Kittie Stalker", as yours is the very first blog I check when I turn on my computer and sit with my morning cup of tea. I appreciate you sharing the tools you used for your gorgeous creations. I've already placed a couple orders through Ellen Hutson and will no doubt be placing more. There's nothing like learning from the Master and I look forward to attempting to create similar creations based on your skillful ideas. My stamps will probably feel a bit neglected before too long, but thanks for your inspiration and dedication to your craft, sincerely.
