Good Friday morning. I have a gorgeous flower project to share with you today made using Susan Tierney-Cockburn’s Dahlia die set. I had so much fun coloring and assembling the flower. I paired it with a soft Belleek Inspired background and created a frame using the Sizzix Border, Label, Medallion and Key set to create the frame.
I brayered plum colored ink on the inside of the embossing folder and embossed with the front side of the folder face down.
I Google searched for dahlia photos for inspiration and look at all the beautiful flowers that pulled up. I cut all the pieces using white cardstock and colored them using PanPastel. Oh how I love that stuff! I formed the flower petals and leaves using tools from the accessory tool kit. You can see the step by step tutorial on the Sizzix site here. I wish I had had time last night to take step by steps for a tutorial when I made this but I just got home too late from work do it. I promise I will do one in the future.
I assembled the flower using Crafter’s Pick glue. I thought you would like seeing the view from the side that shows on the different layers. It looks so real that I can hardly believe I made it.
Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a great Friday and upcoming weekend.

What memories this brings back to me...dahlias were my father's favorite flower along with zinnias. I LOVE the authenticity of this one. The frames and background are so perfect for this card. Thank you for today's blessing and have a fabulous weekend. TFS.

Dahlias are one of my favourite summer flowers. I love going for walks and enjoying people's front gardens, with Dahlias and of course Roses too. This card reminds me of those beautiful flowers and all the amazing colours they come in. Thank you for sharing this beautiful, inspiring card. I must order the Dahlia die, really soon.
