Good Sunday morning. I love rolled roses and it has been a while since I played with the My Favorite Things Royal Rolled Rose. I thought it would be so pretty paired with the Sizzix Fancy Rectangle frame and the Belleek Inspired background. I also used the leaves from Susan’s Rose set and the Cuttlebug Textile embossing folder.
I started by creating my embossed background. I used my brayer to apply antique linen ink on inside front cover of the folder, inserted the vanilla cardstock and ran through my big shot with the front side face down. You can see a few photos on my tutorial showing these steps.
This is one of the prettiest rolled roses I have. It’s a little larger but I love the scallops. I rolled the rose around my tweezers, secured it closed with glossy accents and then worked with the tweezers to turn the individual petals back to create a more natural rose. Check out my rose petal tutorial if you would like to see a few pictures of this process.
I cut several of the rose leaves, scored in the veins with the leaf tool and leaf pad and lightly formed with my fingers.
I attached thin strips of mounting tape to the back of the frame and attached to the card base. I attached the roses to the base with glossy accents and then tucked the leaves in all around to form a tight nosegay arrangement. I attached Champagne pearls for the finishing touch. I really love monochromatic projects.
I hope you are having a wonderful weekend and I appreciate you taking time to stop by.
Card size: 5.5” x 4.25”
Kittie, as always, I am amazed at your gorgeous creation! This is so pretty, and I love the monochromatic creamy color. I do have a question for you. How do you mail your lovely cards? Do you have mailing box patterns, or do you purchase boxes someplace? Thanks for your never ending inspiration!

Patti, If I need to mail a card with lots of dimensional pieces like today's project I like to use the Crystal Clear Boxes that I purchase at Ellen Hutson found here: http://www.ellenhutson.com/servlet/the-2195/Crystal-Clear-Boxes%2C-A2%2C/Detail. I always pack them in a padded envelope. If the card has less dimension and just needs a small amount of protection I still use the padded envelope but reinforce with a strip of cardstock. You can check out my packing and mailing tutorial here: http://kittiekraft.typepad.com/kittiekraft/packaging-and-mailing-card-tutorial.html
I hope this helps.

Another awesome Belleek card Kittie - you might remember I mentioned I came from there originally?
Hope you don't mind but I've taken the step of providing details of it to the Chief Designer in the Belleek Pottery (N. Ireland) as my family lived next door to him for many years before they moved up to Belfast to be closer to me. Fergus Cleary has designed much of the more recent pieces (since 1970 or so), - I suggested he should contact you about producing cards for them :)). Well - you never know what can come of it - probably nothing, but worth a thought at least! Personally I think it would be wonderful if they did!
Blessings
Romayne
