Good Tuesday morning and welcome to day two of the Impression Obsession Fall/Winter Release Blog Hop! We have some beautiful new stamps to share with you this week and there are going to be gift certificates to be given away. Check out the Impression Obsession Blog for all the details and be sure to leave comments on the team blog posts as you hop along. Good luck!
My project today was made using Dina Kowal’s Wreath Silhouette paired with the Ornate Oval Frame. I love this little girl image holding a Christmas wreath of holly and thought the delicate black frame would be the perfect way to embellish it. The red card base pulled highlighted the red bow and touches of holly berries.
I stamped the image using black versafine and heat embossed with black embossing powder. I have better luck getting a full stamped silhouette images with pigment ink than with water based ink and the black embossing makes the image more defined. I used a waterbrush with Peeled Paint and Festive Berry reinkers to paint the wreath. I stamped the bow section of the image a second time, embossed, painted and cut out to pop up and stand out better.
I attached the image layer to the card base with strips of mounting tape. I cut the frame, attached the two largest frame sections together with double stick tape. I attached thin pieces of mounting tape to the back of the frame and attached it over the image. It had the perfect size opening to highlight the little girl and her wreath.
I hope you enjoy hopping along to see all the beautiful design team projects.
