Clean and Simple Modern Christmas

Good Wednesday morning. I have a holiday card to share with you today made using the new Essentials by Ellen Modern Christmas Stamp Set and Modern Christmas Die Set by Julie Ebersole. I always marvel at Julie’s wonderful clean and simple card designs and this new set is a perfect example of her unique style. My style is much more traditional and but I had lots of fun making projects that took me out of my comfort zone. The stars on my gift cards were made using Julie’s Home and Hearth die set.

I started by die cutting the holly leaves first and then stamping them with Impression Obsession Hybrid Turf ink. I secured my card base, sentiment and circular stamps in my MISTI and stamped them two times to get good crisp images. I mounted the image layer on the green with molding tape and them mounted them both on the card base with mounting tape.

I gently formed the holly leaves with my fingers and attached them to the base using glossy accents. I cut three red circles, laid them face down on my molding pad and rounded them with the large end of the stylus. I attached small pieces of molding tape to the back of the circles and attached them to the holly leaves. I finished by applying red stickles to add a bit of sparkle.

I created these gift cards using the whimsical tree shapes and bow. I was going to use the bow die to create a dimensional bow but thought the plain stamped bow was fun. I added stars to the top of the trees and finished by adding a touch of sparkle to the star with yellow stickles.

I used Impression Obsession Chartreuse, Turf and Cherry Hybrid Inks for this project. I love that IO created these inks in sets of three coordinating colors.
