ood Thursday morning. I have another nature inspired snowy scene card to share today using the Impression Obsession Tree Frame, All-in-One Frames Rectangles 2, Fir Tree, Small Fir Tree, Fir Sprigs and Cardinals. I absolutely love using white embossing paste for snow and applying clear glitter on it while it is still wet. It adds a special sparkly touch to the scene.
I cut the tree frame using tan woodgrain cardstock, applied white embossing paste using a Sofft spatula and then clear glitter and set aside to dry. The tree stamps and white cardstock were secured in place in my MISTI and stamped using Peeled Paint ink. I sponged Tumbled Glass ink in the sky area using an ink blending tool. I used the spatula to gently tap embossing paste to create snow on the green trees and then applied the clear glitter. I used my deckle scissors to cut the ground snow layer and then applied the embossing paste and glitter. I thought a few sprigs of fir would look pretty around the tree base so I covered a few of those with the embossing paste and glitter and set aside to dry along with all the other pieces.
I applied double stick tape to the back of the frame and attached the tree frame to it. I applied thin strips of mounting tape to the back of the frames and attached it to the scene layer. The frame scene was attached to the white card base using double stick tape. I tucked the sprigs of fir behind the frame and attached with glossy accents. I finished by adding the cardinals to the scene for a bright touch of color. This kind of snowy scene reminds me of my childhood growing up in West Virginia. We four girls loved sleigh rides and playing in the snow. What fond memories!
Thanks for coming by and I hope you are enjoying a wonderful day.
Card size: 5.50” x 4.25”

Hi Kittie- You don't know me but I have followed you for years. I just wanted to say that in my backyard, it looked just like your card only there were 5 cardinal's :)

Kittie, this is like a Norman Rockwall painting come to life! You are an amazing artist! I also love hearing how the card inspired you to make your project, especially about your mother’s shop...I enjoy hearing your memories of her. Thank you!
Blessings,
Debbie
