Good Friday morning. I have had the Avery Elle Warm Wishes Stamp Set and Warm Wishes Die Set for quite a while and have just gotten around to playing with them. The scene layer was made using the Penny Black Antique Frame set. I added a star embellishment to one of my trees using the Impression Obsession Sun and Moon set and a couple holly leaves using the Impression Obsession Wreath Builder.
I used Arches Cold Press Watercolor Paper for the trees and house images. I secured the paper and stamps in my MISTI and stamped. I used a brush to pull the color out of the image lines and added color by watercoloring with a mix of reinkers and water. I cut the trees out using the die set but hand cut the house out. I painted the roof of the house white with white gesso. I sponged in the blue background on the frame layer and then applied falling snow in the sky area and on the trees and house using a white gel pen.
I attached the white frame layer to the green layer using ATG adhesive. I applied thin strips of mounting tape to the back of the framed layer and attached to the card base. I cut the bottom portion of a second frame layer and then cut across using my deckle scissors to form the white ground snow. I attached it in place with strips of mounting tape. The house and trees were tucked in behind the snow layer and attached with glossy accents. I added a few holly leaves and 1/16” red berries to the ground area and to the front of the house. The red berries really don’t show well in the pictures but they add a little extra touch of color to all the green and brown. I finished by adding the gold star on the tallest tree in the scene.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Card size: 5.50” x 4.25”
What a cute little cottage nestled in the snow and trees. It 14 degrees here right now. I'd love to be snuggly warm in that little scene. Have a great weekend!
