Good Saturday afternoon. I hope your first full week of 2017 has been a good one. I have another project to share with you made using the Hero Arts Floral Border with Frame and the Scrapberry’s In Bloom paper. This time I added a butterfly from the Impression Obsession Medium Butterflies set.
I cut the floral border out once using a piece of 5.25” x 4.00” cardstock and then cut it again with the oval frame attached. I rolled double stick tape to create an adhesive strip, attached it to the back of the frame layer and then attached it over the base frame layer.
I attached the frame layer to the card base with mounting tape. I attached the butterfly to the base using glossy accents. I added several clear sequins with glossy accents to add a touch of sparkle.
Thanks for coming by today and I hope you are enjoying your weekend.
Good Sunday morning. I made several baby cards with the new Impression Obsession Patchwork Elephant over the last couple of weeks using coordinating designer paper. I think he looks equally cute done in plain grey and pink. I paired him in a scene with the Taylored Expressions Shade Tree Cutting Plate, Impression Obsession Leaves and Stems and Tiny flowers and My Favorite Things Fresh Cut Grass. The frame was made using the Nesting Card Templates.
I started by attaching the grass and shade tree to the back of the frame suing double stick tape. I applied thin strips of mounting tape to the back of the frame and attached it to the card base. I assembled the elephant parts together with glossy accents and mounting tape and tucked him in behind the grass and attached to the card base with mounting tape.
I used my stylus and molding pad to form several tiny flowers for the tree and stems and attached them with glossy accents. I tucked the stems in around the base of the tree and attached with glossy accents. I couldn’t resist adding one tiny flower with leaves to the elephant’s ear and a few butterflies for the finishing touch.
Thanks for coming by today and I hope you have a relaxing Sunday.
Good Thursday morning. I’ve had this Pink Paislee C`est La Vie paper pad for a while and I love rustic background with the pink and white roses. I embellished the paper with a simple floral spray using the Impression Obsession Spiral Flowers Large, Foliage , Butterfly Set and Border Duo 1.
I attached the designer paper to the card front using ATG adhesive and then attached the decorative border using mounting tape.
I cut apart two sections of the foliage and attached them to the card base with glossy accents to create the foliage base. I formed the rolled roses around the tip of my tweezers, secured them closed with glossy accents and then attached them to the foliage with glossy accents. I tucked several small pieces of the foliage under the roses to fill in and then finished by adding the butterflies and tiny cream flowers.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a good day.
I started by attached the purple and white layers to the card base with thin strips of mounting tape. Popping the layers up adds an element of dimension and interest. I attached the larger frame to the card base with rolled up double stick tape and the smaller inner frame with tiny pieces of mounting tape. I cut the tiny flowers die twice (72 flowers) and formed them with my tiny tipped stylus and molding pad. I cut two sections of the leafy branch and began assembling the arrangement. I cut one leafy branch apart and attached the sections to the other branch with glossy accents to create a fuller branch. I began applying tiny dots of glossy accents, four or five at a time and attaching the tiny flowers.
I have used several different methods to pick up and place tiny flowers over the years but find using my tweezers is the most efficient. I pick up the flower with the tweezers in my right hand and place it on the glue spot and use my paper piercer in my left hand to push down lightly in the center of the flower to secure it in place. I took the picture above this morning to show my process. Now is a also good time to point out how much I love using the fine tip applicator on my mini glossy accents. It allows perfect precision in applying the glue.
Once I had attached all the flowers I hand cut two extra stems and attached to the branch with glossy accents so it would appear that there are more than one stem of flowers. I applied rolled up glue dots to several key places on the back of the flower stems and gently attached the arrangement to the card base. I attached a multi loop bow to the base of the arrangement with glue dots. I finished by attaching three tiny butterflies with pearls.
Here’s a closer side view of the branches and flowers.
Thanks for coming by today and I hope you have a wonderful Sunday.
Good Sunday morning. I have a sweet baby card to share with you today made using the new Impression Obsession Patchwork Elephant and created a little scene using the Small Grass Border, Leaves and Stems, tiny flowers punched from a Fiskars 1/4 Flower Punch and Memory Box Butterfly Delights. I layered the little scene on my new My Favorite Things Stitched Mini Scallop Square Stax. The elephant was made using Papertrey Pattern Pack designer paper.
I wanted the little pink baby elephant image to pop against an all white background. I cut the base card to create a 4.00 “ square and attached two of the scallop layers with strips of mounting tape to create the base. I cut a a green scalloped layer and then lined up the scalloped edge up on the inside edge of the grass die so it wouldn’t cut off the scallops. I wanted the grass border to match the white layer. I attached the grass to the scalloped layer using thin strips of mounting tape. I assembled all the little pieces of the elephant using glue dots and mounting tape and then tucked in behind the grass and attached with mounting tape.
I wanted the elephant to be the main focal point so I just added a few tiny flowers stems and butterflies to complete the scene. I think this little guy is so precious. It would be a perfect birthday card for a child or a sweet new baby card to accompany a shower gift.
Thanks for coming by today and I hope you have a wonderful Sunday.
