Good Saturday morning. I have another fun reindeer and sleigh card for you today. This time they are flying over the tree tops. I had a great time making this card using my Crafty Cutts Inset Die and creating a framed dimensional scene. This is the first time I have used it and got lots of help watching Julie’s inset die video tutorial here.
I started by stamping my frame base with the Impression Obsession gingham cover a card stamp. I love the bright bright red and white checks for Christmas cards. I used my inset die to cut the opening and folded back the flaps to create the inset. I cut and embossed a piece of white paper for the inset, set it in place and attached it from the back with the flaps.
I die cut the tree border, colored the trees with distress markers, wave crimped the white snow sections and inserted them in the inset..
I cut the deer using kraft paper and sponged on brown ink. I cut the sleigh, applied versa with my versa marker and embossed with gold embossing powder. I cut little square packages, applied bows and attached them in the sleigh. I attached the deer in the sky area using glue dots and mounting tape and attached the sleigh behind them to finish the scene.
Here is a side view so you can see the inset dimension. Be sure and check out Julie’s video if you would like to see how the inset die works. It’s lots of fun.
Have a wonderful weekend and thanks so much for stopping by.
