Good Friday morning. I have a fast and easy Halloween project to share with you today made using the Impression Obsession Halloween Cutout Circles. The individual circle die cuts are the perfect size to use on small gift cards or tags for trick or treaters but since I hadn’t cut mine apart yet I thought they would be cute used all together on a card front.
I placed the group of dies on the on the orange cardstock and ran through my Big Shot Express. I applied versa to the cutout cardstock and embossed with clear embossing powder. I applied versa to the top and bottom edge of the card base and embossed it to match the cutout layer. I applied mounting tape to the back of the cutout layer and attached it to the black panel. I applied ATG adhesive to the black layer and attached to the card base. The upside to clear embossing the orange cardstock is that it added shine and interest. The down side is that it was terribly hard to get a good picture. This one image is the only one that didn’t look to be almost Christmas red. LOL!

Good Thursday morning and welcome to the Impression Obsession “Trick or Treat” design team challenge. My project today was made using the fairy silhouette from the Trick or Treaters set paired with the Tree Frame, Rectangle 6-in-1 Frames, Sun and Moon and the Trick or Treat sentiment. The large moon was cut using the Nesting Circles.
I started by trimming the Tree Frame to fit with the rectangle frame and attached them together using double stick tape. I applied mounting tape to the back of the frames and tree trunk and attached it to the card base. The little fairy was placed on the card base with mounting tape and the sentiment was applied with rolled up 1/8” double stick tape.
I wanted all the images to be in black but wanted to add a little bit of sparkle for interest. I cut a circle about 1 1/4” and several stars in black and applied black Wink of Stella, allowed them to dry and attached them to the card base in behind the tree branches with glossy accents. Although the fairy has a tiny star on the end of her wand I attached one of the larger stars over it to make it more visible. I think the fairy trick or treater is so cute and makes a fun and non spooky Halloween card.

Good Tuesday morning. I am off work this week on a staycation and hope to have lots of time playing in my craft room. My project today was made for the Splitcoaststampers Color Challenge to use Wild Wasabi, Blushing Bride and Soft Sky. I pulled out my new Hero Arts Vintage Christmas Wishes stamp set and Vintage Wishes Frame Cuts die set to try my hand at creating a snowy snowman scene with soft colors. By the way Ellen Hutson is having a 10% discount on all in-stock Hero Arts this week. There are so many new holiday items.
I die cut three plain trees in green, stamped them with the matching tree images using versa and then heat embossed with white embossing powder. The stamps don’t quite cover the cut tree so I lightly rubbed the edges of the trees over the versa pad and then embossed with white powder. I sponged a soft sky background and then stamped the snowy frame image from the set and embossed with white embossing powder. I cut the whole snow framed layer out using my deckle scissors and then attached to a pink layer cut using deckle scissors.
I stamped the snowman with black versafine and embossed with black embossing powder, cut him out and attached him in the scene with mounting tape. The trees were attached around the snowman with mounting tape. I cut the frame using Nesting Card Templates then cut the outside of the frame with deckle scissors to match the scene layer. I applied thin strips of mounting tape and attached the frame to the card base. The scene layer was attached to the card base with mounting tape. I wanted to use one of the sentiments from the set but then suffered long and hard trying to figure out where to place it. LOL! I finally decided to set it in the sky area of the scene.
Thanks for coming by and I hope you have a great day.

Good Thursday morning and welcome to the Impression Obsession “Fall Colors” design team challenge. I am pretty fickle when it comes to deciding what my favorite kind of project is to make. During the summer I just can’t seem to stop making beach scenes and flower cards. As we head into the fall season I switch gears and enjoy making cards with fall leaves and pumpkins. My project today was made using the Pumpkin Set, Large Fence, Oak Leaves and Rake, Squirrel Set, Grass Border, Tall Grass and All-in-One Frames Rectangles 2.
I cut two sections of the fence using Kraft cardstock. I applied versa to both sections by laying them face down on the versa pad and gently pushing into the pad with my fingers (not full coverage) and applied white embossing powder. I rubbed some of the embossing powder off with my fingers to make sure some of the Kraft cardstock would still show through and then set with the heat gun. I lightly swiped the Vintage Photo ink pad directly over the fence sections to apply ink to the small sections of Kraft cardstock that was still showing through the embossing. I wanted the whitewashed fence to look old and weathered.
I cut the pumpkins using orange cardstock and applied shading using Spiced Marmalade and Vintage Photo ink using mini applicators. The squirrels and leaves were cut using white cardstock and colored with Distress Inks and mini applicators. You can see my Leaves with Distress Inks tutorial and Coloring Die Cut Animals tutorial if you would to see step by step photos of how I apply color to die cut images. The leaf tutorial is showing much larger leaves but the concept is exactly the same with these tiny oak leaves. I lightly formed the leaves using my stylus and molding pad. The squirrels were embossed with clear embossing powder. Clear Wink of Stella was applied to the leaves to add a bit of sparkle.
Two sections of grass were attached to the back of the frame using double stick tape. Thin strips of mounting tape were applied to the back of the frame, then the frame was attached to the back of the frame. I applied ATG to the back section of the fence and then attached the whole frame to the card base. The pumpkins and squirrels were attached in the scene with mounting tape. The tall grass sections were attached in behind the pumpkins and attached with glossy accents. The leaves were attached randomly in the scene with glossy accents for the finishing touch.
