Good Sunday morning. I have a bright and cheerful framed birdhouse card to share with you today made using the Poppystamps Massa Leaf Frame, My Favorite Things Birdhouses, Stitched Square Scallop Edge Frames, Lawn Fawn Fancy Scalloped Rectangle Stackables and Impression Obsession Tiny Flowers.
The leaf frame has a very thin layer of cardstock around the opening so I attached a scalloped double matted frame with double stick tape to give it a more substantial appearance. I used the leaf frame as a template to draw pencil lines on the fancy scalloped layer to mark where I wanted to cut a square opening. I used a square Nestabilities die to cut the opening and then applied strips of mounting tape to the back of the fancy layer and attached it to the card base. I applied thin strips of mounting tape to the back of the leafy frame and then attached it over the square cut opening. Using layers of mounting tape between the main scalloped layer and leaf frame allowed more dimension so the little tree house scene would appear set back in the framed opening. Wow! I hope that sentence made sense. I applied a few tiny glue dots to some of the larger foliage branches to hold them in place. I formed the leaves lightly with my fingers to create a more natural look.
I assembled the birdhouse using tan woodgrain and red cardstock . I cut a few extra small leaves and formed a few tiny flowers and attached them to the birdhouse using glossy accents. I added a couple extra foliage branches inside the frame for the birdhouse to hang from. I attached a small piece of twine to a branch with a glue dot and secured it to the base with a second glue dots. I attached the birdhouse in place using mounting tape. I formed a few tiny flowers and attached them to the branches with glossy accents. The two tiny birds were attached with tiny squares of mounting tape.
I hope you are having a great weekend and I appreciate you coming by today.
